    At Doumouras + Company, we specialize in bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement preparation for small business owners. Our goal is to take the back-office stress off your plate so you can focus on running and growing your business.

    We handle day-to-day transaction recording, bank and credit card reconciliations, monthly close-outs, employee payroll processing (including new hire setups, direct deposit, and filings), and deliver clear, easy-to-read financial statements that actually help you understand how your business is doing — not just something your tax preparer looks at once a year.

  • ❓ Do you handle tax filing or audits?

    No, we do not handle tax returns or audits — and that’s intentional. We believe in doing a few things really well, and our focus is solely on monthly accounting support: accurate books, compliant payroll, and clean financials.

    That said, we regularly collaborate with tax preparers and CPAs. If you already have a tax pro, we’ll make sure they get everything they need from us. If you don’t, we’re happy to connect you with trusted professionals we partner with, so you’re always covered on that side too.

  • ❓ What kind of businesses do you work with?

    We primarily work with small service-based businesses — including contractors, tradespeople, creative professionals, local retailers, consultants, and food-based businesses like coffee shops and food trucks.

    Whether you're a solo business owner or managing a growing team, we’re here to support you. If you issue invoices, pay vendors, run payroll, or want better insight into where your money is going each month, chances are we’re a great fit for you.

  • ❓ Do I need to be local to work with you?

    Not at all! While we’re based in Door County, Wisconsin, we work with clients all over the U.S. Everything we do is cloud-based and built to keep things simple for you.

    Our communication is flexible — email, Zoom, phone, shared portals — whatever works best for you. That means you can get consistent, high-quality accounting support without needing to sit across the desk from us.

  • ❓ What does onboarding look like?

    Getting started is easier than you think. Once we’ve had a short discovery call to understand your business and goals, we’ll provide a customized proposal outlining your monthly service plan.

    From there, we’ll help you connect your systems (like QuickBooks and your bank accounts), clean up any past bookkeeping issues if needed, and get your books structured the right way moving forward. We also make sure you feel comfortable with how we communicate and deliver reports — no guesswork or confusing spreadsheets.
